May 13, 2009 News Announcement: The New England Eagles FC and FC PUMA are pleased to announce that the two clubs have agreed to merge. As of June 8, 2009, the new club will officially compete under the name New England FC, “NEFC”, effective with Board ratification.
NEFC is also pleased to announce that in addition to the current (U6-U10 players) in central Massachusetts we are expanding into the greater metro-west area and the South Shore of Massachusetts.
NEFC will be the largest premier youth soccer club in New England with over 700 players and more than 40 boys and girls teams U10-U19, with multiple teams in almost every age category. This means that soccer players aged 6-19 will be able to develop “under one roof” with a distinguished coaching staff and quality training facilities. NEFC seeks to change the way soccer is approached in New England. The nature of soccer in our region, with over 100 clubs in Massachusetts alone, often requires players to constantly change clubs as they develop and want to play at a higher level. Having a club of this scope in New England will allow serious players to grow and develop in an appropriately competitive environment.
